Job Summary

  • The Dredge Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for overseeing the shipping, receiving, and inventory management of all materials, equipment, and supplies related to dredging operations. This includes coordinating the movement of dredging components, spare parts, consumables, and other materials to and from the dredge site. The clerk ensures that all shipments are received, inspected, and properly logged into inventory systems. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
 
  • Manage the receipt, inspection, and storage of all incoming dredge-related materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain detailed records and inventory of all dredge components, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Coordinate the shipment of materials, equipment, and supplies to the dredge site as required.
  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and dredge operators to ensure timely delivery of critical items.
  • Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, and other shipping documentation.
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and generate purchase orders for restock as needed.
  • Troubleshoot any shipping or receiving issues and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with the preparation of periodic inventory reports.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shipping/receiving area.
 
Qualifications
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory management.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with the dredging industry and equipment a plus.
