Overview

  • The Contract Administrator is responsible for managing, reviewing, and overseeing the company’s contracts with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. This role ensures that all contracts comply with legal requirements, corporate policies, and industry standards. The Contract Administrator will serve as the main point of contact for contract-related matters and will collaborate with various departments to ensure that contractual obligations are met, and risks are minimized. 
 
Responsibilities 
 
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and other legal documents. Ensure all contracts are properly executed and archived. Maintain an organized system of physical and digital records for all contracts.
  • Contract Review: Thoroughly review contracts to identify potential risks, discrepancies, and ambiguities. Collaborate with legal counsel and subject matter experts to address issues and mitigate risks.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure that contracts adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Monitor compliance throughout the contract lifecycle and address any non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contract terms, and resolve disputes as necessary.
  • Contract Administration: Oversee the execution of contracts, including tracking key milestones, payments, and deliverables. Maintain accurate contract records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with contractual agreements and develop strategies to mitigate them. This may involve conducting risk assessments, implementing risk mitigation measures, and drafting contingency plans.
  • Communication and Coordination: – Serve as the primary contact for contract-related inquiries from internal and external parties. Liaise with legal, finance, procurement, and other departments to facilitate contract negotiations and execution. Communicate contract terms and conditions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on changes in contract laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Identify opportunities to streamline contract processes, improve efficiency, and enhance overall contract management practices.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in contract management, procurement, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, legal terminology, and contract drafting principles.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex contractual documents.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) may be an advantage.
